How do I start my own club? What steps do I need to take

Depends what you mean by a club.

If you mean one without waters then it should be as simple as getting a few people together, pre booking some pegs on other waters and away you go with some club matches.

If you mean a club with its waters, then I would guess you need to find a suitable water, negotiate a lease, then get some like minded souls together to cover the lease. You would then need to have club rules, AGM's the lot

How would I enter us into a league and against other clubs

You need members of course, public liability insurance, a club constitution, club waters, ( unless your a barbarian club ) a meeting place, a commitee when/if you start. Thats just for starters.

The way I see it, a club is a formal number of members who get together once a week, fortnight etc and pre book waters to have matches on or have waters of their own between themselves and run a club league, and a small fee is paid by said members to be part of the club, and a team is just a group of anglers that fish purely against other teams.
