Choosing feeder tip size

Morning all,
Just purchased a new feeder rod which comes with 2oz fibreglass and 3oz carbon tips.
How would I choose one over the other ?

It depends on how sensitive you want the tip to be nothing to do with casting weights although its true to say the carbon tip will cast slightly better.
Lighter tip for general use and the heavier tip for beating wind or flow or fishing with a method feeder which does not require sensitivity.

I'm surprised you didn't get 3 tips. Usually there's a 1oz tip too, for those shy biters.

I use the biggest 2oz tip on my rod for method feeder fishing.

Before i got a proper feeder rod i was using a 1.5lb avon rod and still had the tip pull round so use tip heavy as you like i think.

2 oz more often than not I'd say. Across my two feeder rods I have 1oz, 1.5oz, 2oz, 2.5oz, 3oz and 4oz tips and on probably 3/4 of my sessions I use the 1-1.5oz tips and have yet to need the 3oz and 4oz.

Not much choice / options there. 2oz = Stillwater. 3oz = slow moving river or Stillwater with lots of undertow. I may have missed it but, what rod is it ? ?
