Tuchel May have found Chilwells best position as left wing back.
Dodgy left back, though.

I've supported Chelsea for over fifty years now, about thirty less than Peter 😂 and without a doubt this is the most satisfying and enjoyable period in all that time and that includes the Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cech era but this isn't all down to Tuchel, it's the meticulous management going on behind the scenes bringing our academy kids through with some very careful thought out and well timed loans, add to that master strokes like Cech being instrumental in bringing Mendy to the club. This isn't a story all about Roman's money, if we still had Tammy we would only be a goal keeper short of fielding an academy side that could hold its own against the best.

Tuchel is the final part of the jigsaw and has formed a bond with this squad which looks formidable.

Having said all this it's that old man Silva that was the biggest pleasure to watch tonight as it has been for many performances, another brilliant piece of business.

To think we still have Billy Gilmour and Conor Gallagher to return!

Your bench tonight was bloody strong ( not cheap either)
Also, Gallagher looks like he’s got some potential

The bench was a more expensive squad than the one that started!

Juve's heaviest ever Champions League defeat.

This isn't a story all about Roman's money,
But in a way it is. Abramovich actually paid a 15% premium on the share value of the club in July 2003 when he took it over and undoubtedly saved the club which was perilously close to entering administration under the Bates Regime.

While it can't be argued that He was the first of the super rich investors, the big difference is that unlike others who have followed, it's his passion project. In a rare interview last year he said " “The ambitions are as true now as they were when I first became owner and I hope that can be seen through the work we have been doing on and off the pitch over the last 17 years, I think the trophies speak for themselves and show what we as a club have been able to achieve over these year and it’s my goal for us to keep winning trophies going forward and build for the future. Chelsea has a very rich history, and I feel extremely fortunate to a play a part in that. The club was here before me, and will be here after me, but my job is to ensure we are as successful as we can be today, as well as build for the future. That’s why the success of our academy at Cobham is so important to me.”

Therein lies the difference, unlike numerous other owners ( Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal to name but a few) he doesn't take millions out of the club.

Just watched a YouTube video featuring Wrighty interviewing Arsene (boss), when asked who did he most regret not signing he said Ronaldo and Kante, pipped by a few days for both he reckoned

I have to say that it was a bit of a Masterclass from Thomas Tuchel and his players. 3 academy graduates on the score sheet, Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James and Callum Hudson Odoi along with a nice cameo from Timo Werner coming off the bench, returning from injury and scoring the final goal. Yet another clean sheet for Mendy.
Just got to hope that there's no long term damage for Ben Chilwell or N'golo Kante. 🤞

Was he trying to do his jacket up still instead of getting on the phone? Or better still, trying to find a seat at Old Trafford when he was sent to row z.

Tucker, enjoy the ride fella. Your club is now secure. As long as people don't become impatient the rewards will come, just don't expect too much too soon.
Newcastle are in nowhere near the position that Chelsea were when Roman took over but provided the new owners are prepared to be patient and build the necessary infrastructure for the long term future of the club the future is bright. ;)

Definitely dodged a bullet last night.
Hopefully Saul is never seen in a Chelsea shirt again and is sent straight back to Athletico.
A worrying number of injuries creeping in, hopefully mostly short term.
Awkward one on Saturday, another early kick off at West Ham who are a bit of a bogey side for us and always seem to raise their game.
