I have been fishing a local water. It is lily lined and contains carp, eel, tench, perch, roach and crucian carp.
The pit im fishing is called farmer parrs pit and renowned for its tench ,hence the pits alternate name "the tench pit". But all the time i have fished it i have never seen a tench come out. I have seen large crucians and perch upto 3lbs.

My question is do you know of a killer winter bait for any of these fish and/or any methods to catch em?

hi piker
welcome to the mad MDs
the best bait ive found for tench & big perch is 1/2 or whole lobworm also you could try putting a few chopped worm & casters in as loosefeed

tight lines.

Hi Piker,

The only problem with Tench is that once the water temperature drops to 4-5oc the Tench kind of hibernate on the bottom and don't respond much to baits.
A red worm might tempt one or two but it's not looking hopeful at these temperatures.

Perch - again go for worm or maggot in and around snaggy areas
