A friend of mine told me he keeps his casters fresh using Milton Sterilising powder, The stuff that cleans babies bottles.

I haven't tried it myself but him and a couple of other club members swear that with a tea spoon of Milton powder in a tub of water will keep up to 3 pints
of casters perfectly preserved for 3-5 weeks if kept cool and in the dark? Then just rinse off the water and take your casters to the bank when you need them.

I have never heard of anyone else doing this before but I suppose it couldn't hurt to try, Have any of you heard or done this before?...

Buy a Mosella pellet pump and use the biggest container . Put the casters in and pump all the air out. The casters will keep for a fair while like this .
