Ok folks. I am going to attack my carp fishing with a bit more vigour this year (when it gets warmer and the pike season ends, naturally). I know how to make basic hair rigs, but want to use a bit of the spare time I have until the Spring learning how to make the more 'exotic' types, like spinner rigs, d-rigs, helicopter rigs and all that sort of nonsense. I have seen them for sale, but they are, like 4 or 5 quid a pop and that's a rip off.

I quite like making up my own rigs, find it quite theraputic when I'm not fishing, and learned to make my own pike traces lately and they've managed to hold up well under battle conditions.

Does anybody know of a book of carp rigs that gives you step by step instructions with easy to follow pictures.

I know Fox do a book of different rigs ask your local Fox stockist, It's only a cheap little handbook A6 size but covers most of the basic rigs you will need

Hi Beebs,

I haven't got any books, but there are loads of sites on the web which show the various rigs you can use and how to tie the various knots needed. Here is an example of a few sites...
