Squeezed a few hours in at Halnaby(Yarm A.L water) today, decided to have a bash at the resident Carp which go into the 20's(big for round here). I fished right up against the weed with one rod(the rules dictate one rod only!). I Catapulted Pellets and Corn out then fished Bolt Rigged Halibut Pellet. I had a run almost straight away and safely landed this pristene 7lb 1oz Common..
Within half an hour of that i had another run and landed this slightly battered Mirror at 7lb 10oz..
I had another 2 dropped runs after that but didn't manage to land any more. It was my first bash at proper Carp fishing so i was quite pleased with the result. A bit gutted neither topped 10lb, i was sure that mirror would but it was a bit skinny. Maybe next time i catch it!
