Carp covered in ???

Anyone know what this is on the fishes back. It was like a jelly substance. Not seen it before. Cheers

The fact that its eye looks covered or eaten away makes it look like a fungal infection. Not healthy looking at all.

Make sure you have disinfected and dried your net thoroughly. Wouldn't want to spread that.

Carp pox as already mentioned:


Seen it on my Father in laws Koi - it sorts itself out apparently although he did buy very expensive water treatment stuff.

I thought 'carp pox' had no known treatment apart from an improvement with/in higher water temperatures ?:unsure:
He bought some fancy stuff off tinternet from America - after much research afterwards he came to the conclusion that it is untreatable with unguents or additives and he’d bought expensive nonsense. His carp sorted themselves out without any long term effects.
