Caravan Weight under 1150kg
Best Alternatively Fuelled Vehicle

Although the I-Pace is slightly limited in terms of what it can tow (max 750kg), Jaguar claims it has a generous solo range of around 250-290 miles on a full charge, depending on how you drive – with a caravan hooked up we reckon you can still cover 115 miles or so before needing to plug in for a recharge. Its boot accommodated all our towing kit and judges scored it highly for the ease with which electrics and towing mirrors were attached.

OK if you don't want to go too far and have a caravan about the size of a mini !!

Pretty rubbish really. Who wants to pull up every 115 miles max to recharge ? especially on way back home from holiday when all you want to do is get back..

Most caravans will be well above that weight which will make the battery life less,. I'll stck to my diesel until they can improve the e car vastly

Where do you store the fishing tackle in that thing?

That's Winston out then :D

Leeds to Cornwall (Newquay area) 360miles
1450kg (unloaded) caravan
That'd be about five stops compared to our usual 2 (fuel and food)
Diesel approx £100 each way (Hilux)

How long does it take to charge one?

It's a joke. Have to set off a day early to allow for stops and charging time

A car nut friend of mine bought one as soon as they came out after having a go in one on an airfield we use for speed testing, he is trying to sell it now before the cold weather comes because the cold reduces the range and turning the heating/ aircon on halves the range again.

I only put £50 in the golf and it got me from Notts to Cornwall and back!

...but were you pulling about 1600kg of loaded caravan behind you, a full fishing tackle kit, dog, table and chairs in the boot? :D

I could reduce it by a third if I left everything behind, plus Leeds to Notts (your starting point) is 90miles, a quarter of the journey :)

I tow down to the St Ives area every yeay, 390 miles. I reckon towing the caravan with a loaded car uses about 25% more fuel than a normal journey would
