Henri Saivet's. Newcastle player. Not played for 1st team for 3 years. Not even been in 25 man squad this season. Can’t get anyone to take him on loan. £30k a week. £8 million for 8 games.

Has your club got a long term player just picking up a pay check. Nice work if you can get it

We had one, Steve Brooker. Came on a 2 year deal, played one game, scored, then was injured. Played again at the end of his 2 year deal, scored and left the club, (injured again IIRC). Not on anything like that kind of money - but as you say, nice work if you can get it!

this is a doozie! dont think anyone can top this! and remember every baseball team have a salary cap so his salary still counts to our overall salary allowance until 2035!!!!!

Oh yes, Bobby Bonilla! signed for the New York Mets November 1998 and released him in 1999, owing him $5.9m the Mets agreed to defer his payments for 10 years and then pay $1.19m per year for 25 years (ends 2035!), this works out to a final pay of $29.8m for him when he didnt even play for the Mets! oh and he retired from baseball in 2001!

To top that he was rubbish, argued with teh press, moaned about the team, moaned about his contract, and sat on the bench for 1999 and then ultimately playing cards during our championship game!!!

each year on July 1st is now known as "Bobby Bonilla Day" Bobby Bonilla 'took the Mets to the woodshed' with his lucrative 25-year deal

Think we have sorted most of these now. Bar the newbies who aren't getting a fair crack, Utd have plenty getting a game, we use about 25 players a week....

Weirdest thing about the whole situation with Saivet is that on the handful of occasions he HAS appeared on the pitch, he's looked decent, not a worldbeater but we've certainly had worse appearing in midfield over the years we've had him.

Remember Winston Bogarde, the Dutch international who ran out his four-year £40,000-a-week contract at Chelsea playing just 11 times from 2000 to 2004......nice work if you can get it.....
