I suppose you could use them on a float but my guess is that if your aim is catching fish, you'd have better luck with them on a hook.

Your sense of humour is extremely varied Newt.

Something else about casters just in case you don't know.

The dark ones that float are fantastic for catching Rudd off the surface on a warm summers evening.

Put a stick controller or a little bubble float on. Grease the line between the controller and the hook and get out amongst them. It's great trying to catch them and not as easy as it might seem.

It's quite important to make sure the bait is static when fishing casters on most occasions. Plumb well and fish a little over depth.

May all your lines be tight ones, and may all your tales be tall ones. bounce.gif

I've had great sucess on turnip, hair rig a whole turnip, whilst firing in a few small cubes evry other minute. Paricularly good for tench, carp and gudgeon.

Percher, best bite I've ever had on TURNIP was when it was mashed with potato and served with roast and a nice gravy, and good old YORKSHIRE PUDDING.

catch you later, tight lines, dave....
