I've had a few very lively carp recently that I've found difficult to keep still enough for long enough to retrieve the hook. I have a matt with a surround but with some its still a challenge. CArp are mainly 6-15lbs in size. So what do others do to calm down their carp?

I've found that just covering their eyes works. If they are flapping I use the landing net or weigh sling and just lay it over their head so the eyes are covered. Works for me Barry.

Yup, cover the eyes with something wet. Wet landing net or weigh sling usually works. And if lively when holding for photo, just put your thumb end in it's mouth.
