hi, what is the best/safest way of paying for items you buy on classified ads when item is being posted

paypal, it's the only way, to be honest the members on here are all good folks but like with all sites we get the occasional scammer who'll sign up just to rip people off so paypal is the only way i'd do it.

As Trogg says, Paypal.

Ideally if you don't know the member, even more so if a new'ish member with few actual posts, err on the side of caution and pay with Paypal using the 'Goods or Services' option, not the 'Freinds/family' as some request.
To be fair the Paypal charges are not astronomical to the seller and can be factored into the price of the item, but it does give the buyer some protection should the transaction go sour.

Some of the long standing members will also sell stuff and you can see their joining date and number of messages they've posted under or within their profiles, most of which I'd trust enough to pay via Friends/family, but the option is yours at the end of the day after all it's your money :)

It certainly does matey. As you know I christened your old Amorphous on a Barbel first time out. And then we all got locked up. 😩😩. That extra heavy feeder tip is brilliant. I wish I could find another but, I guess there’s more hens teeth in the world.

Stay safe my mate. 👍
