I don’t use a brolly preferring a decent set of waterproofs but I do have one I picked up when I first started back - it’s a Leeda 50” with a 19mm spike.

Jacob isn’t enjoying being on the box in the bright sun (and doesn’t do rain at all - strange child) and I don’t want him looking like a lobster despite being slathered in factor 50 so I thought I’d get a brolly arm for his new box and use the Leeda brolly.

Thankfully I googled before going shopping on the way back from synod today and all the arms I find like the Preston fit 36mm fine but only have inserts for 30mm, 25m or 19mm square.

How do people get around this ? Am I being dim and missing something obvious ?

The brolly end of the arm is usually size for aa standard spike and thus doesn't need any adapters. It is only the box end that varies.

The Preston Brolly Arms are virtually bullet proof. However go for the long version as it gives you a few more options re placement.
If you want to fish in a storm, get the Gardner Brolly Pole to go with it ;)

Treat yourself to a Gardner Brolly Pole as well it will outlast every brolly pole you'll ever own and last a lifetime. ;)
