Hi,
Me and my mate got a Big Bucket yesterday after seeing his grandma has
4 dustbin full of worms you know to decay food into compost (her use),

we must of found over a 1000+ plus worms on the top of one of the bins,
we were amazed so we tryed to do it ourself.

We got the nearest to gravel (BALLAST) and put a 3inch layer of the ballast into the bucket with holes at the bottom of course for drainege.
A layer of mud, and loads of soil and on top paper , potatoe peeling you know the usal garden vegetable stuff on top with banana skin etc...

and put about 50 red worms and 50 debro something and about ten lobbies (nightcrawlers for you americans) from his grandmas bins)
and waterproof top with airholes at the side.

Can anyone put me some hints and tips on making more worms.
and any past experince of this.
Ta

Hi GF,

Here's some bumf for you on wormeries. Its part of the 'A to Z' that we're building for the site (eventually it'll be finished
)

Click Here

Hope it helps, Dave

ps. Some of the best Red Worm I have ever found came from the bottom of a Stable's old dung heap, the sort that has been there for that long it had gone black and was becoming overgrown
