Hi all md's,
I'm thinking of joining Bradford No1 and would appreciate any advice from anyone who is currently a member or has been a member recently. Would you recommend joining it? What are the waters like? Experiences both good and bad? I live in Huddersfield and am looking for some local(ish) waters to fish on an evening without trailing over to the York area where I mostly venture on a weekend.
Thanks for any info received...
Matt

Hi Matt,
I was thinking of joing Bradford No1 ,, but it cost a bit. For new members it cost an additional 18 ontop of your annual membership of 27. They have some good waters, especially if you like river fishing? but the fact of the matter is you will have to venture afar to make the most of these waters as they stetch upto North Yorkshire area anyway.. so I never bothered. check sout href://www.bradfordno1.com. hope this helps.
Mal.
Ps Im from Brighouse, so it would be good to meet up some time.

Hey guys,

What's wrong with the Brighouse and Huddersfield Broad canal???

Not fished either for a while, last time I fished the broad it was just a case of sitting for a 'lump' to do well and most people never got one.

Last time I was on the Brighouse, that was scratting about for 6oz of eyeballs.

Now I can see why you want to venture out to Bradford!!

Wakefield have got some good waters, 20 a book per year, no initial first membership charge either.

Lee,

Have fished the canal at Eland a couple of times.. its ok for a few bites, but you get a lot of boat traffic and the gates open quite alot, which kills the swim for an hour. Im not one for sitting around for a couple of eyeballs...
Hey Lee are you fishing the series at willows this year.?

MrC,

I am pondering wether to fish the willows spring league or not, I fished a couple af the matches last year and really enjoyed it.

Thing is, I work all week and love a night out on the p**s and also a days fishing. Sundays are usually booked up for a fishing match and Saturdays to nurse a hangover.

All the willows matches are Saturdays and unlike some of my mates that can go out while 2/3am and get up to go fishing at a silly hour eg 6:30, I can't handle it!!! Yorkshire lightweight or what?!!!

The willows matches are a late draw and they are 6hr matches and fish until 6pm if I remember correctly from last year.

I'll probably just pick and choose my matches rather than commit myself to the full league.

Norm catching pairs of eyes is usually a term that goes hand in hand with bloodworm/joker fishing, because of the baits ability to catch the small imature fish, that are not much bigger than the eyes on their head,
