Looks nice in my opinion, not to keen on the frame however, personally I wouldn’t pay £1500 quid for it, its just far to expensive for a seat box, but that’s just my preference, I’d say if you want it buy it but certainly not for me, it’s just nearly killed me paying £340 quid for a second hand z36 lol, I personally can’t really justify paying crazy money for something to but your bot on, but that’s just my opinion, each to there own

I wouldn’t pay that much for a box either. But this came along at a price that could not be turned down, by anyone looking for a new box. I was just looking in the right place at the right time.😉

Well like is said m8, if your happy that’s all that matters, I’m just tight when it comes to box’s as I personally can’t see the point spending big money on a box I’d far sooner buy a better pole etc.. that does NOT however mean I’m right lol, it’s all down to personal preference and if your happy with you buy that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

£1500 for a seatbox is just ridiculous. I also can't see the point in back panels, surely they just add unnecessary weight?
Also - I don't like 36mm legs, too much restriction on the accessories you can get.
Every manufacrorer now does their seatbox and accessories in 36mm. The smaller sizes and other fittings are becoming obsolete

Wouldnt give you £50 for anything Rive now especially the open leg system.
Ive had three Rive boxes and they all still suffer with sticking draws, the open legs that slip, draw handles snapping.

other manufactorers have now come a long way and for me Rive whilst they look nice are very over priced incl their accessories. They have suffered a real big drop in their reputation since the problems with the open legs and my last box that cost me £1200 the open legs all srarted to slip despite regualar maintanence. The final straw was the rive UK rep telling me it was my fault because I was pushing the box into my car which must have bent the leg fitting..

From what I have read and seen the open leg system wasn't their brightest of ideas.
The theory of them is good but the practicality isn't.
Rive seem to be going back to the previous ST8 frame (the round tubular seat support) and I've noticed they've also done away with the open leg system on the Guru mk2 and latest Rive boxes, except the RS2 version that's just being released.

Garbolino have just announced their new seat box with 25mm legs - are they bucking the trend and going back to strong narrow diameter legs to lessen weight?

I got told same when had to get my box out my van as I grabbed on of legs to pull it towards me Nathan ( from Nathan’s of derby) said try not to do that as it can pull on bracket and bend it as it acts as lever when pulling on leg which can see how it flex’s on bracket which could twist bracket

but I’ve had no issues with open leg brackets even though most of time my back is submerged in water so full grit etc

Four reasons prevent me buying the new Guru Rive RSW...

1- Over branding, if they (Guru) want me to advertise for them I'd want a mega discount
2- I'd be afraid of being targetted to steal it
3- I couldn't justify the expense
4- I prefer value for money and it's just a starter box at the end of the day. Units for it are in the region of £80 for a standard unit, to around £120 for a drawer unit, and it's not as though the market is or will be inundated with 'used' ones.

I saw this on eBay yesterday. I can’t find it now. I wonder if it sold ? 39A8363B-1E40-4661-9345-A5FA7A10E602.png Any lucky angler on here perhaps ?

Whilst I love my little seatbox as it’s perfect height for the boy with the legs up I did see a chap at my local tackle shop inspecting a MAP one he was collecting with a very snazzy all black Z shaped frame to it.

Now whilst I’m not into kit for the sake of kit I have to admit to my shame a degree of instant covetousness because it looked soooo funky and gorgeous - maybe even a touch of Gollum, “ooh my preciousssss”

T'wud appear the throne is not padded enough and lacks a back rest. Also its bloody heavy and impractical for her type of fishing. She was happy to serve me coffee during the match and help unhook an errant Grebe... I thought something was not right with the throne. So now it's looking like a Game of Thrones... Finding the right one that is!
