Boring types of fishing?

I don’t find any type of fishing boring but we all have our favourites. I’ve done a thread before on favourite kind of angling so here’s one for types of angling you find boring, if any?

Reason I ask is every time I go into the tackle shop and say I’m going Bream fishing and can’t wait, I get told it’s boring type of fishing.

That doesn’t put me off though as I know a lot of people find it dull as the fish don’t really fight and not everyone likes feeder fishing so I hope this thread doesn’t encourage anyone to lambast a type of fishing lol. We just have a bit of banter about it in the tackle shop.

Seens some people are so into their match fishing anything else is dull and others so into specialist fishing that fishing for silvers on the same stretch does not appeal.

Am interested particularly in those who don’t like Bream fishing as I love it.

Very easy commercials, bits bashing (proper bits not the quality silvers some refer to as bits) or rock hard one bite specimen hunting. Apart from that I like a bit of everything.

Not a massive fan of carp angling. Done a bit in the past but soon dropped it and went back to match fishing. Never pike fished, it's not something l look at on Youtube, however l would like to give it a go using live/dead baits to see if l'd like it or, like carping, find it boring.

I’d find it interesting to see what you would think of somewhere like chard res if you ever fished it where 70lb of decent size roach is probably “easy” to catch. Would you find it boring like an easy commercial? For me I was after the Bream so didn’t want roach no matter how close to 1lb but can see the appeal of targeting them in a match.

Anything that would involve sitting in a bivvy for any length of time just waiting for the very occasional bite.... I get why people do it and total respect if they can, but just not for me, I get bored far to easy. Plus not a big fan of camping of any kind

River fishing. It's so easy to catch 20lb + of silverfish trotting a float down the swim on an over stocked river. I mean come on now anyone can do it. Feed..Cast..Hold back..let it go...hold back...strike fish on....not exactly rocket science is it.

Other than when I need them for Pred fishing catching mirror image silverfish.
Unbelievablely mind numbing catching small fish that have no fight in them.
Roach and Rudd over a pound then yes now we are talking but Sprats ???

That’s why I don’t like bits bashing. You get a lovely little scrap on a light float rod from quarter pound plus fish with a bit of flow behind them but literally winding in just blades gets boring very quickly. Mixed in with bigger fish they’re fine but when the net doesn’t get wet all day it’s not much fun lol

I bet I wouldnt make it look easy! I’d love to have a go at those bream that’s for sure. As much as I love roach unless I could get them within float range I’d be after the bream all day long if it was a feeder job. I wouldn’t mind that being easy as I know that’s a big wild water. If I fished it a handful of times on the bounce and it was easy every time I’d get bored of it but I have my doubts that such a venue would be like that every time.

I’m all for easy fishing if it’s not like it every time as you then have the variety and never knowing what to expect part of it and two when it is good you feel like you’ve achieved something. Whereas when you turn up and it’s easy every time it loses those appeals a bit.

When I was catching bleak on the Severn the other day it was frustrating more than anything. Could not get a clean trot through without my float misbehaving but there was always a chance of a bonus fish I just hope the bleak aren’t there next time and I can trot maggot. Used to fish for similar size fish with a light elastic all the time on canals though.

There are types of fishing I haven’t done like predator and carping but that’s not to say I don’t find them interesting.

Understand the too easy thing especially when pleasuring but it’s still nice to be catching sometimes when others around you aren’t lol

Oh yeah when you are catching and others aren’t then generally it’s not an easy water as such waters don’t tend to be very peggy or need much skill. Probably more that you are just fishing better than them or you are on a much better peg than them. Assuming they are doing them same form of fishing of course.

Anything where I can't fish how I want is frustrating / boring. If the bleak are all over me and I can't get down to good fish, or when the 1" roach are all over my pellets in a match........

So far a bream fishing goes I'm packing for a few days on the Thames - bream will figure very highly on my target list, only downside is they only come out between 10pm and 2am when the boat traffic has gone.....

Each to their own but legering for me is boring. I do it, of course I do. Sometimes its the way to win a match and thus has to be done. No issue if the tip goes round regularly but it just feels like I am not "fishing".
