Following my post regarding Bob Roberts double figure Barbel capture from the PAD stretch of the Trent, where on 28th and 29th September many of you are joining me for the Trent Fish-in.
I have had a couple of E-Mails asking me for Bobs Secret
Well, I E-Mailed Bob and Secret? No way,
He generously came up with the following information.
Quote
Tackle: Daiwa Powermesh barbel rod (designed by me!), Daiwa
SS3000C Reel, 10lb bs Daiwa Infinity main line and hook link, Large
Thamesley feeder, open one end, free-running and stopped by two beads, 18
inch hook link, size 7 ESP raptor T-6 hook, knotless knot, Mistral Arctic
Anchovy 15mm boilie. Fed approx 3 pints of hemp, split between two areas
(two rods), feeder loaded with 30% mixed size trout pellets/ marine pellets/
Ellips pellets, 70% hemp. Plugged with fairly dry groundbait.
Caught first fish (8-10) at 11.45, second (10-8) at 04.15.
End Quote
So anyone wishing to emulate Bob now knows how he did it!
I dont know the availability of the rod and reel, but the Terminal Tackle is on the shelves.
Thanks again Bob, for your company, your information, (which belies the Specimen Hunters legendary secretiveness) and success in all you attempt
Here's Bob with the 10lb 8oz Barbel (Peg ! PAD Trent 4.15 am Sat 31st/8/02)
Cheers
