Hello again and thankyou for your wonderful welcome! Anyway the alarm is for protecting your swim and bivvy, sort of a trip system. I have had my tackle stolen twice in the last year whilst asleep and need some sort of alarm, I also need help for sleeping out fishing for pike and carp in winter!
Here's something to look at- Protect your campsite from night time prowlers with one or more portable motion detectors. Set them near your tent, or food storage. When any motion is detected in their protected range, a 110db alarm is activated. About a third of the way down the page http://www.bmetscameras.com/prod01.htm
Turn your volume down tho as the background music, well say no more lol
Maplins electronics do a battery operated passive infra red alarm. It may not be waterproof but for under a tenner when I bought one late last year not bad it could always be set up inside the bivvy pointing at the rods. john
Welcome Mr M and please tell me where you are, so that I don't get robbed fishing the same place!
Alternatively, if its a dear day ticket water, take me and I promise I'll stay awake all night on guard, if you,re buying the tickets , as well as if you get a run on a 50lb + Carp, I'll wake you within seconds of me landing it!
Welcome to the forum and long may you enjoy.
I'm sure the sober ones have helped, even if this doesn't!
If you are interested, there are US cameras made for taking note of wildlife when no one is around. Motion and IR sensors. Adjustments so you can pick up something human size but ignore dogs, cats, and such. Waterproof case. Case has mounting points for locking to a tree, pole, whatever. Will - if so set, take a nice bright flash picture of anything approaching your location.
I suspect that would send them packing pretty quickly and you would also have a nice picture so you could see the evil sod who had been lurking around.
Happy to post links and prices for you if you want.
