Well started well today, 8-00am went to the guy on the reach saw
to ask him to cut some timber for me, just about got to him when
he scremed turned round blood every where, even over me he had got
his hand in the saw took two fingers off.
Seems the timber twisted when the blade touched it and though his hand in, what a mess anyway got him sorted, off in the ambulance
did a couple of deliveries back in work 11-30am called into office
( all of us ) thought here we go talk on safety proceedures, could
not have been so wrong, we were told that at 4-00pm Wednesday we were all redundent, seems that the gaffer has been playing silly buggers
and got the company into debt and cannot get it out of the mire.
So behind the backs of the other Directors he arranged with a
competitor to join them and take all the best customers with him,
him and his two sons resigned this morning and walk!t out leaving
us without jobs, but get this he came round to shake us all by the
hand and to wish us luck, I cannot tell you on here what I wished
him something on the lines of " when you cross the road, look both
ways twice and, be Quick be very very quick".
Anyway going up to Elvington this weekend to fish Saturday,Saturday night going to get SMASHED same Sunday and probably Monday as well

I don't know what to say mate, i'm gutted to hear whats happened mate i really am icon_smile_sad.gif

If you lived a bit closer i could get you a job working for Graham but Lancs is a bit far to travel to work each day init, then again you'd be stuck in a white van (merc sprinter) all day trundeling around (at 110mph) so i don't think the job would suit an ex pizza delivery boy like your good self icon_smile_wink.gif

David, not much more that I can say but what a twit.

Right down to business: Phone the Health and Safety Excecutive asap and report the accident if it hasn't already been done. Then get hold of the businesses insurers details for the lad on the saw and at the same time make a note of them yourself. Give it a week and pop in and see your doctor and tell him how traumatised you are witnessing the accident, go to a good solicitor (most offer free consultations) and see about making a claim against the company. You'll succeed, not as much as the lad but enough to stick two fingers up at the 'firm'

Regards, Dave

David,
These little things are sent to try us!
I sincerely hope you find that the enforced change works out better David, they often do.
It's always darkest before the dawn etc. and almost all of the changes that have come about in my life have resulted in better outcomes than I could have possibly forseen at the time!

Good Luck mate and keep smiling

David,

Sorry to hear about the day.

But don't worry mate after working for the same company for 11years i got made redumdant when they sold out and since then i've been made redundant 5 times (luckily always in the summer) so i got plenty of fishing in.

But something better has always come along after a little while.

So just treat it as a short holiday till the next job come's along.
