Hi All
Just started fishing this venue, as it's very local. To be fair it's a whole new ball game !
Could any regulars please post a few hints, tips ?
I am a purely driven pleasure angler trying to gain some knowledge on this water, the carp chappies here are not keen to divulge anything.
What areas fish best at certain times?
Do the fish follow the wind?
Roadside or riverbank?
Is it all 50+m chucks, " Tiresome in this recent weather" ?
Are the carp widespread?
Silverfish haunts?

Many thanks.

When it warms up a bit catapulting 8mm pellets in and fishing a method feeder over the top is a good way of fishing it. A pellet waggler also works if the fish come up in the water.

Peg 124 is the best peg on the lake. The riverbank is where I'd prefer, pegs 10 - 30 and above the island. The fish can follow the wind and the top end can be good at times.

For silverfish, they can be everywhere and you can't go wrong watching how Des Shipp approaches it...

Many thanks,
Always worth an ask! On a largish water like this a little info saves alot of potentially poor fishing days.

The matches will be starting up soon, just keep an eye on the results, that’ll tell you where the fish are, although they are often in the same areas, as has been said above and also the low 50’s.
