Another one of the joys of carp fishing. Bacon grill fried in pan with eggs and add beans!I like the eat it idea haha.If I froze it, next time I'd have used it would be next season now so not worth it.

I don't want to look like a Jeremy Kyle contestant asking for 50p worth if they don't do it like that anymore1/4 pint in the shop I use.
Worth trying in yours if all you want is a few samples of say flouro maggot or pinkies for hookers.
I have only ever used maggots carp and course. Want to try pinkies and squats coarse fishing this yearInteresting that you would take squatts, pinkies and maggots for a session.
I used to loose feed squats and pinkies on the hook or loose feed pinkies and maggot on the hook - if it were a carp session I’d not bother and just take maggots then put deads in my groundbait or loose feed, with dead or live on the hook usually in bunches.
Good luck with your session, look forward to seeing a report.
Aha - confused old taffI have only ever used maggots carp and course. Want to try pinkies and squats coarse fishing this year
How good is a fish’s sense of smell?Always wondered about the mole hill soil attractant concept and IMO I think the soil having worm juices, dna etc is a bit of a fisherman's urban legend.
How much "juice, dna" would have to be in soil for it to have any effect., soil already has a smell of its own and I can't see anything else overpowering that.
The reality is it is just the fact the soil clouds up the water a bit or provides a different shaded on the bottom - it's this what attracts the fish.
Mole hill soil can also be used as a bait carrier on its own....Coming up to worm fishing in about a month or so on the commercials...Yea I can't seem to find the compost/peat without additives these days, and a worm molehill mudball for perch, sometimes perch just don't want groundbait. its not a faff all you need is molehill and a riddle, when the river is 10+ft deep and you want your bait to get to the bottom and still in your own swim its invaluable.
Get it from a field, not the side of the road where according to some ,exhaust fumes can taint the soil.Make sure you get a nice fresh molehill. You don't want one that a dog might have peed on.![]()
