Branston Pickle is lovely with Pork Pies.
And if you can get or do a proper Ploughmans Lunch, with a decent piece of pie, they are spot on.
That said I've been to cafes and pubs and ordered and sent back several Ploughman's over time as they resembled nothing like them and there was no pork Pie included
There was a butchers in pately bridge that used to do all kinds of pork pies , my mate used to get apple and also pickle ones and I used to get the sweet chilli ones . Don’t know if it’s still there but if you’re ever in the area they are well worth calling in for .
Went to this year's Piefest. Picked up The Best pork pie I have tasted. Sadly although there were some pie sellers at last weekend's Chocolate Festival the same seller wasn't there. Picked up another "Award Winning" pie from a different stall, will try it Saturday night.
And yes if anyone wonders, you could get a chocolate coated pork pie.
Friend of mine goes over to Melton Mowbray regularly and whenever she goes she always brings me back a porkpie, she tries to find one i haven't had before and last time she brought me a porkpie with blackpudding topping....droool
