Fished Himley Hall today - only a few anglers there. Had some nce perch and some tiny perch on the float and a two slimy tency about 3lb & 4lb. Left at six as it was a tad cold out of the sun. Noce place though.
Sorry to ask, but do you have the code for the gate to get to the car park nearest the lake please?

I am currently fishing for eel and zander.

When fishing for zander I use this method for low resistance. Open bail and below a (what we call in Germany) monkey climber. When it gets dark a starlight can be inserted.

Had a few hours on my local Nottingham Trent, fishing at the back of the Forest ground. I only took hemp and tares with me, but had a nice day catching roach to about ten or twelve ounces. Never had the crawling up the rod (pole), but enough bites to keep it interesting. Wind was tricky most of the day, so a pole fished at about 7 metres seemed the best option. Nice way to fish, with a number 5 laggy and light tackle. Flow was very steady, and there was a fair depth on the 7m line.

I went back to marsh farm today

Fish came on the feed as o was leaving at 130pm

Having struggled I had a 3lb 8oz tench followed by a 4lb 60z tench whilst packing up

Heat of the day and they come on the feed!

I forgot to post before the weekend ....

Sunday was Great Ouse at Sherington for the Newport Pagnell FA pairs match.
narrow and shallow river, and soooooo low.
I picked up some decent roach and a couple of skimmers on 11m of pole in the second and third hours, but then Mr Pike arrived (about 6-8 pounds) and the roach went. Alex Bates next peg asked if I’d fallen in at one point when the pike struck at a dace. it was certainly a long way down from the platform to the mud, must have been at least 4ft off the water!!

weighed in 8 pounds 9oz for a section win, my partner had 6:12, but we were a couple of pounds short of the frame.
Paul Caton won with 13 pounds, and his partner Neale had a good 7 so they totalled over 20.

I have managed to move both jobs I had booked in today to tomorrow, so busy today tomorrow and fishing at the park this evening, will be 'dobbing' again but take some pellets too just in case I feel I'm on a peg that ain't a patrol route or holding spot.

Do you think like me it could be a good idea to make this thread permanent and change the title to something like „Anyone fishing today?“
We should see what the mods think as it looks like it's been on the front page for a few weekends now!
