Alex , Its years since I fished back home, but heres bit of info.

Melton, this is the venue described ( he e-mailed me with the facts) by Stewart Bloor under The Pilgrims Progress articles on fishing magic. Evidently LARGE bream and Tench there , but you know what Melton is also famous for!
Not done Saxmundham, but Leiston has a small fun Crucian lake and a Carp specialist lake.
Thwaite? used to fish the river Waveney there, don't know a lake.
Needham Market has a good lake and Woolpit was described as having 20lb Pike in it, although Elton from Angnet lives there and has had em to 12 only.Diss has the Central Mere.
At Onehouse, Nr Stowmarket (2 miles) a new Lakelands 2 acre pool has a record caught cat at 49lbs last may and impotantly it,s next to the Shepherd and Dog Pub!
Let me know if you need anything further

Trev
PS congrats on your 100 and when I visit my parents, I'll have to contact you for whats fishing!

Hi Alex,
Tiptree/Brookhall,one and the same, small match lake about 50 pegs, used to be owned by Peter Clapperton of Van Den Eynde fame, has since changed hands and although Carp are still the dominant species there is now quite a good head of Bream,Tench and silver fish.
Top method this season has been catmeat fished in the margins over a bed of micropellets.Plenty of fish can be caught on the waggler or feeder but pole tends to dominate. On a good day once it warms up 100lbs is definatly on the cards.
If you visit keep an eye out for Betty (the bailiff)she's a mine of information.

Lotsa small Roach and Perch is all at Hoxne as I remember. The stretch off the bridge? near the pub Green Man or is it Red Lion?
For me the river in your area is the Stour, Try Jel, see if he knows the best stretches!
It aint that long ago that the Stour Nr Sudbury held the record for 155lb Bream for a 5 hour match.
Flatford Mill also used to be fun, Go to the boating area, walk right (after crossing the bridge)and Roach on bread used to be great.
Bit of a walk though.
Pop in to Birds Tackle Shop at Great Blakenham, just over the Railway Crossing to Claydon. Just off the A14/A140 Junction.
They got Pics all over, loadsa venues and will help you with their locations.
Big into Carp , theres also lots of smaller waters info to be had.
Wish I could help more, but I left Stowmarket area 35 years ago!

Good Luck
