Been a while,
So hi all.

About to get back out on the bank, Tried picking up my all time favourite pellet, Ringers. Nowhere had them in stock of course.

Went online to buy some, And can only find the 'Next Generation' Ringers expander pellet. Not sure how long they've been out for but I've never used them personally!

Looking at the description theres a difference from the old ones;
  • Reduced oil content for use in cold water
  • Better release flavours and attractants in winter
Not sure how I feel about the reduced oil content.

Anybody given them a shot? Still similar and as good as the old ones?

Cheers

Too much oil in cold weather isnt good for fish, so reducing the oil content will make it more palatable to the fish...

to expand on Arry correct post, different types of oil behave in different ways in cold water as well, they can congeal, cloud or even solidify

not tried the pellets though

There are three types of Ringers expanders The standard Next Generation the "cool water" version which is lower oil and the Ultimate Koi which are the best but only available in 6mm.
There is also a pale version only in 3.5mm called F1 lights.
