Its a chub, some strains of chub look very similar to dace, easiest way to tell them apart is the dorsal and anal fin on the chub are convex and concave on the dace.

eh Malc, you and Steve are GB chomping champs, what would you recomend chap? [] some of the stuff you to stick in your gobs smells pretty grim .... id hate to hazard a guess what it tasts like! [:I]

its very silver but thats due to the variation in water colour. used to fish the dove and blythe a lot in the past. the dove is crystal clear and the fish were very silver but the blythe was dark brown and in flood often with the chub being a beautiful dark bronze and almost black on top.

I also agree its a chub. The ones I caught ot Mudimore looked the same. In my limited experience of these fish, like Bream they get darker as they grow. Its a silver no its a bream argument LOL

Ok Ok Ok Ok go away for two days and come back for a battering I give up, Yes chub but are you experianced anglers going to tell me that that fish has not got any roach in it. hybrid crossbreed what ever you like to call it.
