Leven Canal, East Yorkshire.
A lovely day, just a bit bright at first. What the French call 'Un ciel moutonné' - a sky full of sheep.
Not many pegs to choose from these days, must dig my rake out for next time.
No groundbait allowed, so I threw in a good handful of hempseed and some casters.
The water there is about 6 feet deeo and crystal clear, not a fish in sight until about 7pm, when bubbles rose around my float.
I was comprehensively thrashed by two good tench, despite my 5lb hooklength, but at least the lovely rudd put in an appearance.
A perfect gold bar -
And a real old warrior
