Ive been off all week on A/L, but put my back out so I’ve only had 1 day out ,end of last week, I went on canal pool, fishing was hard as expected, but I’ve managed a few mostly dobbing bread at 11m, in the deeper water, and a few on maggots short later on ..Dobbing rigs were Malmans secrets 4x10 & 4x12 , with a guru 18 F1 pellet hook, 6mm punch ?maggot rig was a Malman Dusty 4x12 CA4EC806-3FA7-4725-A9CC-98F7DB702823.jpeg A14315D6-6909-40E1-9395-49E466F7122D.jpeg

I twisted my back awkwardly sorting my gear out last Sunday, so spent all week ,apart from Friday laid up ?I’m back to work tomorrow, as my 2nd chefs test came back -positive!!!

Cheers for that. It's a method I've just started trying & I'm never sure what depth to start off with.
I usually spend 15 minutes, moving around the peg with the plummet on, and hopefully you can “feel” a few fish bumping the line, this gives you an indication of where the fish are, then start there, about 6 inches off the deck..If however you don’t feel any, you have to just try every where ?‍♂️

Nice one, its good when you can set knowing what to expect. Went for F1s the other week and ended up hooking into lumps, wasn't complaining of course, but after having a 9h bottomed out its annoying at times.

Meant nice stamp as in nice pole fish, i struggle on more mixed fisheries or ones where they may have put some F1s in but old and grown on stock are still present.

You usually encounter a few lumps there , I did have a couple on but I think they were foulhookers and they came off , this winter I’ve been using 8-10 TH Solidco (hybrid) through long kits for F1,s,small carp ,and silvers

It’s time we had a Tunnel barn up here. If and when we ever get out of this #### Gazza I’m going to throw Nicky in my van and we’ll have a run down. Would love to fish there. Will Nicky have to double his Preston slip No2 up ? ??

Even when pleasure fishing your gear is neat. My gear looks like an upturned bin lorry. ?

Well done mate, starting to get a bit cooler now. Went to Meadowlands today for a couple of hours and it was cold. Should have fished the bomb or method but stuck it out for a couple of doubles and a few skimmers on the pole.

Have the back gets better, We are all falling apart. I've got a frozen shoulder and its not the weather causing it.

It’s not easy fishing in the winter mate , can be dire if you’re not on a ball of fish ....Summers a different story though ?

No Gazza. I can make fishing look hard all year around mate. ? We’ll have to pop down in summer and let you show us how it’s done. I’d love to have a dangle there. Looks a great fishery. ?
