4th of Feb and it's the wife's birthday and I'm a little worried .....

I had to ask the mother in law to go out and get me a pressie for Jill, I'd told her that I'd previously seen a nice lead chrystal brandy decanter in a York shop, bless her she's a saint, but she's brought home a whisky decanter [:I]..... I just didn't have the heart to ask her to take it back and change it.

So later on today I'm going to have to face the music [B)].

BUT... this has given me a cunning plan for a new thread [:D], how about we have a Gift idea's for wife's - partners ?, then we can exchange ideas on presents for christmas and birthday's, I don't know about you lot but once you've done the jewelery, clothes, flowers thing for a few years, I struggle big time.

Aaaah .... soon be fishing

I do the same Newt but without the 'suprise' bit. Ten yrs of marriage and plenty of scowls from my wife, together with the 'thats nice dear(but I dont mean it voice)' has taught me this. Of course you still get the 'why dont you buy me any suprises any more' but I ignore that - thank goodness us lads take the logical approach.Perhaps we could also run a parallel thread for the wifies 'Unwanted Hubby Prezzies Auction Site'.
Just a suggestion in these days of equality!

just ask her to get her own present it save`s a lot of headaches and normaly don`t cost as much i think they feel guilty when they look at the kids starving faces and end up taking them to mac`s

you can not catch one sitting at home

Buy her a gag and some tranquilizers and a pair of ear defenders for yourself.

Got the same problem. It's my missus' birthday next week and I haven't got the slightest idea what to get her.

Happy Birthday Jill

Andy

I just listen to what Dian says during the run up to her birthday, christmas etc.

They always start dropping hints mate, with little things like "oh thats nice" or "ooo i'd like that".

Then again with Dian being an angler its really easy to be honest, i just go out n buy her some fishing gear [:D]

My missus' birthday is September 1st, so we try and have a short holiday (it's Cornwall this year). I don't have to buy a special present then and I get to go fishing too!!!
