There is a new teams of six league launching in the north of England, giving teams the chance to scoop a massive 1000 first prize. Being run by veteran Sheffield angler and Northern Angling Today correspondent Mark Wragg, the event hopes to attract ten teams of six anglers from across our region to compete.
There seems to be a deficit of team competitions for anglers in our area, with nothing except the Super Cup that Angling Times run to really appeal to club anglers. I hope that by launching this competition I am going some way towards addressing that deficit.
With matches booked at a number of the regions top commercials, the league is aiming to appeal to aspiring club teams, to give them a chance to compete for big money prizes at a local level. With ten teams of six anglers competing, there is obviously potential for a fairly big pool to be operated, which in turn means big prizes. The top prize for the Supercup is 1000, and with a full turnout we will match it, as well as offer a good section payout, and team payouts every round Mark added.
Kicking off on the 12th of January, the first round is at Doncasters Lindholme Lakes. The next round moves to Retfords Hallcroft fishery a fortnight later on the 26th January, with the next round being at Dinningtons Straight Mile Fishery on the 9th of February.
Two weeks later and the league moves on to the home of Fish Omania, Hayfield Lakes, before returning to Hallcroft and Lindholme on the 8th and 22nd of march respectively. Interested? Contact Mark Wragg on 07957609018 or 07904026472
