I will usually sit on my box with a cup of tea and and fag just concentrating on the water in front of me. Doing this for 5 minutes and considering my options gets me in the right frame of mind for the next 5 hours.
Spot on mate 👍👍

Take note of where the trees are at either side...and above and behind.

Who’s next peg? Will they be up for some banter? .... sadly these days on the river we’re usually too far apart!

Maesknoll ... nice net full there ... but when did slabs become silvers?

No slabs there, biggest fish about 2lb maybe 2 1/2lb, still skimmers, slabs start at 5lb in Somerset.......

I’m stuck in the pages of Freddie foster’s Swing tipping ... 1 pound is a bream!

Although I do have the occasional session on a gravel pit that we used to match fish 30 years ago. In those days a four pounder was a big fish, most were 1-3 .... these days a nine pounder is small!

Goose shite normally means goose quills at this time of year.
Fill your boots, then make some proper floats!
