Thanks Pat yes I'm very proud. Still have to loads to learn but the basics he seems to grasp so easily- had him using the side puller this wknd and he loves that. His scrap book is slowly filling up too. I have also had a tackle shop offer to sponsor him to help his progression off the back of these pics but they didn't realise he was only 4. V exciting for us all but I just hope he doesn't lose interest. I'll ask Tk to post any new pics as he is desperate to go to canal again this weekend.

They reckon the earlier you can get some one into fishing the stronger the bond, well, it worked that way with me.[:D]

Having just paid our C&RT lease on the canal, it is sad to report that on a serious note, one of our members reports that over the last two weekends he has been approached by an individual posing as a bogus bailiff trying to sell him a day ticket costing 3.

This bogus person is male in his 40s about 6ft 2ins tall. He is big build, heavily tattooed and has an Irish accent and wears black bum bag around his waist.

The individual has no association whatsoever with CASHMORES MG DONOT give him any monies if he approaches you.

Day tickets (1) are available either from me (tel 07989700638) or our secretary Dave Meredith (01922 413925) To be honest, since we have held the fishing rights to this section of canal from 2008, I have sold very few day tickets as most anglers elect to purchase a season ticket which only costs 5 for the year.

Unbelievable value for money at 5.
Whether it is small fish trip with a beginner to prime roach on the seed, specimen perch, bream, huge tench, golden rudd and pike this canal is fantastic.

Hardly any boats too makes it great for matches.

Club bookings are welcome speak to Tony (TK) and he will put you on the best section depending on time of year.

Take a trip down there and I'm sure little Harry will put ya right ![:D]

It's at the other end of the Cannock extension, where the young lad is fishing is the junction between the Cannock Ext' and the Wyrley cut.

At least it's only once a year Tony, on the Cov Canal at Fazeley it's like it 365 days a year, and 366 on a leap year.[:D]

I welcome it Pat, wished a few more boats passed thru more regularly to both minimise some weed growth and add more colour

Tony, I can understand the need of the occasional boat going through to keep a bit of colour in the water, but on the Fazeley cut it takes a good 20 mins to get the swim built back up after a boat goes through your swim, so when you have boats coming through every few minutes you stand no chance at all.[:(]

I'm all for it Tony if the boys fancy it, we all like a bit of a contest against a 'Home Team', offer that to Chappo and you'll soon have the gauntlet thrown down.[:T]

The club fished one of its league matches on its canal on 6th May 2017

Conditions were cool to say the least..............but it was still the tale of 'the ones that got away', with quite a few fish lost

Yamo won it with 10lb odd, Carlos had 7lb odd and Cotti 6lb

Been out of the country for several days till tonight, but received a number of membership renewals from MD'ers whilst away.

Apologies for the delay, but all new club cards are now in the mornings post - thanks all
