Been trying my new remote and tripod out in the garden. I have got a lot of work to go, to get the focus sorted out as for most pictures, it is focusing in on the Pyracantha, but it is going to be one of my projects for this summer.

Older Canon EOS 100D, with a 75-300mm lens. It was more the remote I wanted to try,(which I'm really pleased with), but it has taken me two days to get 3(ish) usable pictures. The noise seems to be scaring them a bit and I think they need to get used to the camera and tripod.

Is it the noise from the auto-focus? If so try wrapping the whole camera in some old rags and leave just the front of the lens showing, it should dampen the noise. I had to do that with my video camera.

It's the shutter noise, I have got it in sports mode at the moment, so I can take multiple shots. I will have to try manual, but I'm trying to get some of them landing, so the sports mode is useful. I have got a very good manual, that my son bought me, I'm looking up problems as I come across them. I have had the camera about 3 years and only used it a couple of time. I tend to use my Nikon Bridge or Canon Power Shot
