World Pairs has fished well, considering the rough weather, won by Andy Leathers and Will Freeman.
Off to Carrigallen on Tuesday 10th for 10 days

Our 2nd day in Ireland, water levels very high, after one of the wettest August months on record.
Spent both days on west bank of Derreskit, access via boat, fish a chuck on feeder but nothing over 1/2lb, best weight only 10.00lb, moving on to west bank on Glasshouse for next couple of days, again access via boat. Most reports state its a struggle at present, conditions set to improve, been very wet and high winds today. Had a ride out to Garadice tonite, watched 2 guys for 5 mins on Cullys, who both caught large hybrids, tried to access Creamers shore but gate was locked, with no entry sign, spoke to farmer who denied us access. Went upto to Connolly's but track at gate was impassable for other than 4x4.

Go to Holland - look at Chris Watson's Fishing in Holland on Facebook - tremendous weights coming from the river Ijssel - love Ireland - went down to Inniscarra in May - had a great time - loads of small fish but the fishing in Holland is far better

River Ijssel ain't for the faint hearted they were chucking out a 70grm legged feeder at 1 minute intervals great if you can do it but still knackering.

Any reports back returned on the 21st to what was our worst ever year of fishing there, flat calm blazing sunshine and high water levels, struggled each day for just few pounds, that was the norm for most anglers barely catching double figures,

We returned on the 19th, our worst trip ever, real struggle, conditions were our excuse, but everyone we spoke to were finding it difficult, last day was on the Steps at Gulladoo, and my mate made 29lb, some bream.
Still enjoyed, and already planning next years adventure over there.

Just returned this morning from 2 weeks over there.1st week was fishing the Carrick festival which was fished in very warm, sunny and often calm conditions which are never good for Irish fishing.Well that’s my excuse. And high water didn’t help either.I didn’t get any good weights at all with 6-600 of small roach on the waggler being my best all week but there were some better weights.Overall I would say it fished harder than other years.Did get some skimmers the day after the festival weighing 35lb on the Mudflats.Last week was a pleasure fishing week, fished somewhere different every day and I did catch some Bream..8 Or 9 one day was the most..3lb fish.Had a lovely couple of hours on the Rynn river fishing the whip which had risen overnight and continued to do so until it became unfishable for the rest of the week.Had a few Bream and a Tench from a different deep lake too but it was hard going with only small numbers of roach and Hybrids showing but it’s one for another day.Not great fishing overall but I always enjoy it when I’m catching or not.Cannot wait to go back.

There’s some bad anglers that go over to Ireland with pre conceived ideas of grandja, obsessed with nostalgia and when they bagged up 20 years ago , yes the levels are well high but there’s loads of places that you can catch 20lb of Roach and Hybrids , I know the carrick festival was hard , Youngian catches well all the time .
Have you seen the weights on the Cootehill festival , loads of decent weights , if folk are complaining then go on move to Holland and leave more for us , fickle anglers
