Has anyone actually caught Zander from the union canal, Nottingham?

I've been told by countless people that the London road stretch of the Union canal in Nottingham is full of Zander. I've never seen one and I haven't ever met anyone that has caught one from there.
I'm thinking of a first light spinning session tomorrow or Monday morning.

No but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm in Derby and there are a shed load in the Trent & Mersey.

My last one was on worm. Large single hook and a made up fine trace, but a lot do come out on jig and drop shot, depends how lazy they are.

I've been told in Matchman Supplies that they have been coming out of the canal on London Road. I've not fished it in years myself, so I couldn't swear on it, but they are fairly well spread in the Trent these days too. I had some advice from Martin Bowler on getting them out the Trent. Tried it once, caught my first zander...
