Apart for announcements - closure of canal, match bookings and annual permit applications, this topic is sadly a little quiet since Photobucket decided to charge quite considerable fees to host pictures relating to the canal.

The club now has a fb page in which some of the old photos and new ones going forward will feature - search Cashmores & Harrisons AC on fb for more info

Not a brilliant advert for the canal, but hey hoe, that's what happens after first 3 or 4 successive first frosts of the year......

Yesterday saw round 1 of the G T Bathrooms Winter League on The Cannock Extension
To say it was hard wouldnt be an understatement - I've personally never ever seen the section behind the old 'police pool' so clear - it was like tap water, you could see all the leaves lying on the bottom. Thankfully the match was only 4 hrs.....
However one person who found a few was Cotti The Warburton King, who managed to put a creditable 5 - 6 - 0 of punch fish to the scales to walk round 1..........
2nd Carlos - 2 - 1 - 9 (On the chop)
3rd KOD 1 - 0 - 8 (Was gunna be a dry un until he had a few in the last 20 mins)

Any MD'ers who used to deliberately view this topic would remember that I used to post quite a few pictures to give a 'flavour' of the canal via the host 'Photobucket'. Sadly all those images on the previous 14 pages 'vanished' when I didn't take up Photobuckets options and cough up 400 sovs or so to them.

I've stumbled across a data stick holding some of the images which I'll start drip feeding onto here as they may be of some interest to 'new' viewers.......

First up, this bonus lump put in an appearance on a winter match a few seasons ago, falling to punch on no3 lackie and therefore took a while to net......

Despite a supposed warmer front coming through, it was cold and bleak this morning on a clear boatyard on The Cannock Extension Canal for round 7 of the G T Bathroom series

Usually the first few pegs by the New Rd Bridge are bankers for a few fish but they didn't yield their usual nets. Instead the 3 framing weights came from the 3 furthermost pegs, approaching the boat repair yard.

Paul Jeffery broke and crushed his 4th section after treading on it before the start, This inhibited his ability to feed either crumb or chop but he still ran out winner from peg 11 on this latest 4hr match with 3 - 4 - 7 of small silvers taken on punch

Mike Elcock on end peg 12 chased him home with 2 - 14 - 9 of silvers, taken on large red maggot.

Pete Wassell on 10 took 3rd place with 1 - 13 - 8 again all on the punch
