Happy New Year to everyone

Not a lot to report at Angel Fishing Lakes just having to break ice on a few pegs to let some anglers fish. so here are the water test and blurb

Sunday 2nd Jans water temp is 1.5 deg, ph 7.40, DO 14.00, MV23

Well been frozen since late Nov and all Dec except for breaking ice on odd pegs, we still have ice up to 9 inches in places (thickest was 14 inches but we have 6 ft depth and this has not appeared to be a problem), with other areas thinning to breaking point so we can get some ice broken to allow fishing. Where the water is free of ice there are good signs of fish feeding, so as the lakes de-frost they should fish well for the time of year.

2011 matches ( when we de-frost are )

Lookout Lake on Sundays draw at 9 am fishing 10.30 am till 3.30pm

Bowes Lake on Saturdays draw at 9 am fishing 10.30 am till 3.30pm
Wednesdays draw at 9 am fishing 10.30 am till 3.30pm
Tight Lines for 2011

Were there any blanks Ann? Given that we're on Lookout next week, and my propensity to chuck bait at the fish on your lake![:0]

There were 7 blanks I think, all of them were from peg 7 to 15 and 42. No explanation for it really weird, everyone else caught!

When we fished (Big Waters) around this time last year, Tony, it was similar, practically nothing was caught on the island. The 'weights'(!) all came from the early 20's to around 30. Admittedly, we're not as familiar with the venue as the Open regulars, but it was still a bit of a surprise.
I was on 3 and blanked[:I][:I]

I suppose it could be that the 'non-island' pegs are more sheltered from cold breezes, particularly those bone-numbing Easterlies?
BTY, is Ann holding the Open on Bowes this weekend?

Spring league starts in March, every week, either 12 or 13 weeks drop 3 results. Its 20 for the league and I would phone to get your name down ASAP as there are a lot of names down already!
