If you have visited one of the above mentioned attractions, please will you tell me which, how you found out about it, and what made you go there.

I've been to Ludlow castle Ed2, isn't it called Richards castle or is that another one? I found out about it from driving past it and seeing it whilst on the way to Church Stretton to visit my Grandad. |

we stayed in ludlow about 9 yrs ago after a day at the races in bromfield, can't think of the pub we stayed in ed2 but there was an archway adjoining to it, and the market square through other side, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, pub was great! food spot on,olde worlde shops, will get back there one day.we found out about ludlow, through a proud salopian nanny in law. ps, that river behind the castle looks nice whats in it and can you fish it?.

I know there are some BIG salmon that run in season, and trout too. I think there are chub and barbel, but I've only had bleak!

That would be brilliant! I was introduced to Barbelling last year by Esox20 from on here. He took me to Atcham and I thouroughly enjoyed the day. Since then I've got myself kitted out with all of the tackle, (shimano hyperloop XT BARBEL rod a hand made Tench rod with a spliced tip that Esox20 practically rebuilt for me on a north western blank and a pair of shimano bait runner reels).I was brought up river fishing for chub and love Barbel fishing as it takes me back to my younger days. I live in mid wales (Llandrindod wells) so Ludlow is only a stones throw from here. I've been told that the Teme has some great Barbel fishing to offer so I will be looking into it and then following up with some trips to find yet another favourite spot. I know that the Teme is a different style of fishing to the severn, more touch legering under rafts and overhanging trees as apposed to being able to cast in a feeder like at Atcham. At least it is if you are the mobile sort of Angler like myself. Although I do enjoy the sitting and waiting game nowadays too. Thanks for the offer of company, I prefer to fish with others as it makes it more of a learning episode. I'll await that PM. |

Blists Hill Victorian Village is one of the 11 Ironbridge attractions and museums that you can visit on a single ticket ("passport"). Well worth a visit - they have a working schoolhouse, bakery, pub, workshops etc etc. There's an old canal at the top of the hill which has some carp in it

Hehe, upon visiting for the third time to study the site thoroughly for my coursework, I discovered that is only a short stretch of canal, which is little more than a few hundred yards long, made to imitate the River Seven and the Iron Bridge! Well, so the staff informed me

I went to Blists Hill. Very interesting place.
I learnt about it in the letter I bought home from school for my parents, as it was a school trip, about 25 years ago.
