JAIL AND BAIL DAY FUND RAISER
Dec 10th 2008 Doncaster Marsh gate prison
I was offered the chance in November 2008 to raise even more cash by a good friend of the big bash events Mr Andy Lees .A prison officer at Doncaster Marshgate prison
He approached me with a idea of locking up a local celebrity or business man for the day . he would only be released once he had come up with the desired amount for bail .
It was a very successful day and the amount raised was a staggering £2325 ,
I
Got up at 6-30am
ready to meet Des comerford the local business man who has very kindly
offered to be a convict for the day ,
with the roads very icey we gave our selves plenty of time to get to the
pick up point ,
7-30am and no Des !!!! he was running late ,
so mad dash to get to Doncaster with directions
(wrong ) in hand we shot off down the motorway ,
as we hit Doncaster the traffic was really bad , and we only had 10 Min's
left to get there ,
a couple of phone calls to tell them we are stuck in traffic and to get the
correct directions !!!!! a U Turn needed , which didn't go down very well
with other traffic Qued !!!!!!
so back heading in the right direction in Doncaster , we are in the wrong
lane , I hate traffic ,
so I asked the nice lady in the lane next to me to
let me in. if looks could kill id be a gonna , you would have thought id
asked her for her phone number !!!!!!................

Andy is a true gent and always has a smile ,
there was
bacon and sausage butty's and pots of coffee on
offer , very nice as well .
then time for a few pics and a bit of banter with all the other would be
convicts
which included a old pro footballer from Sheff UTD and Leeds Tony Currie
then the doors open and in walk half a dozen burly policemen , which one was
a Donny rovers fan who was very interested in giving the ex footballer a bit
of special treatment if you get my drift !!!!!!!!
time for the business of the day and time to get Des arrested , all his
possessions taken off him and bagged , just as this was taking place his he
got a text from his wife simply saying ,," enjoy your porridge "
hand cuffs duly placed on and read his rights , by the looks of he had none
!!!!!
YOUR NICKED MY SON
then taken away in a prison bus to serve his time , , by the jokes he was cracking on the way there this morning , he want locking up and keeping there for a very long time ,
Des being dragged off to prison

YOU CAN
IT MUST BE THE BIG BASH BASE BALL CAP THAT GOT HIM
BANGED UP
This was the last i saw of Des till it was time to
pick him up
I went back to pick
him up at 2-30pm where he would be released if he had raised enough cash
upon my arrival back at the nick ,I was told he
wouldn't be out till 3pm , and at 3pm the gates opened and he came out with
his possessions in a plastic back ,
All in all a great day , Des has done himself and the big bash very proud indeed , by raising a staggering £2325 , in just a few hours ,
he assures me the time spent in there has put him off from a life of crime ,
we thank Des with all our hearts and we really do mean our hearts , a true gent ,
