Come back , re-set up correctly caught some . lost some lumps in last 1 and halfs as well , had to re do hook link twice in last hour . Did catch too many barbel whihc have not a lot of weight , but take an age to get . |

drew peg 79, end peg on far bank of lake 2,
looked alright till I plumbed up, was expecting at least 4 foot with a bit of a shelf at 5-6 metres
what I got was even 30 inch depth nearly everywhere,, right shallow
fished banded haired 8mm hookers, at 10 mtrs, lifting dropping and feeding by toss pot,
was lifting the pole right up feeding and tipping 4mm pellet from about 6 foot, to get a splash,
had 77lb of mainly carps, few vermin, a loony barbel that I foul hooked up the jacksie( that was fun on soft set black hydro) and a couple skimbibblybobs
nice day even with the weather,
glad we met up again, allus nice to see mates |
why are the next pegs to me vacant? www.hillbillyfloats.co.uk www.marukyu.co.uk |

Drew peg 67, right on the corner, thought happy days, then came down to earth with a bump after being told about the 6 mtr rule.
Struggled to sus out how they wanted it at first, all i was catching were Skimmers, Chub, Ide & perch, regardless of how or what i fed, anyway i stuck to my game plan & soldiered on.
I had my main line at about 7 mtrs which i fed with just pellet & fed both margins, one with pellet & groundbait & the other with maggot, but it was the Pellet margin line where 90% of my fish came from, i only caught 1 carp on my mainline.
I ended up with 60lb 12oz.
Never the less, a great day........Thanks Nick |

Drew 133 as far away as it's possible to get.
got to my peg and it looked good, set up 4 lines on the pole, 1 at 6 mtr 1 shallow 2 edge rigs as 1 side was 10 inches deeper than the other.
after the first hour I had 2 small carp, 3 lb in the net second hour and 3 more fish took it to 12 lb, by the last hour I had 25 lb Then they turned up in the left margin and I doubled my weight in 60 mins.
Finished with 53 lb and came 3rd out of 5 in the section as everyone else struggled too.
I still enjoyed myself and at least I wasn't last. |

In hindsight I could of avoided the nightmare I had. . I had a 20gm method feeder set up,I should have been on it when the wind picked up in the first hour .feeding the margins at same time. Occasionally potting in some bait at 9m with intention of dropping on it when the wind died down. Hemp and meat on margin line worked well so at least one sensible choice. Meat was what I caught on my pole line, but most of my limit was taken up with pellets.I should of carried a few extra tins and ditched the pellet,oh well ..lesson learned . .. Oh,buy myself a bait brolly and short margin pole should sort out a few of the conditions I was not prepped for.doh new ng deckers were spot on,so that will be a good part of rigs for future.
Sum up"I came,I saw and got it all wrong"..pillock |
