well i've just got back from my business trip to holland, would like to thank griffs party for making the ferry crossing more bearable as i was on my own.
a great bunch of lads i must say.
also met glenn yesterday on the voorne,
its true about the carp i will post the picture and video on here later, the fish was a beast and in absolutely perfect condition (not like most of the puddle pigs you get in England), the dutch guy that caught it said there are plenty of 50lb-60lb fish in the canal, and possibly as big as 70lb (although the dutch record is only 71lb, so how true i dont know) imagine how big the carp can grow in the massive expanse of the haringvleit. 100lb fish must be well on the cards...
once again Neil, thanks for the phone number
Dave

Neil he was standing behind me when it was caught ............................................from the pegs we filled in the night before ,only 1 angler on the voorne when we got there at 5.45 and he was on the pegs we had filled in,well thats life, anyway to knackered to report now as too many early mornings trying to get a few half decent bags. But met up with griff and the lads and big ,big trouble heading for someone when they get back .................griff went to book in and .................................no booking for griff and party ,it had been canceeled by A/W according to cape people, not the last we will hear of it and just for my part i/we will be heading further east next year for a change ,fished the same waters for too long now i think ,full post later
was good to me you yesterday Glenn, hope you had a good trip back, i treated myself to Langans Brasserie on the boat, i felt like royalty, i didnt think it would be so posh, i'll put a tuxedo on next time LOL
do you know if griff and the lads got sorted eventually ?? |

hope you had a good trip glenn, can't wait for the report. you mentioned trying a different area next time,is this purely for just a change of scenery or are you sensing a decline in the fishing in and around hellevoetsluis ? if so do you think the weather is playing a big part in the feeding cycle or are fish stocks dwindling ? hopefully you just fancy a change of scenery. cheers |
