Went there for the first time today and a great days fishing was had, i caught some lovely double lb carp not in the 20's but that didn't matter all the carp I caught went from 5ib up to 17ib all on sweet corn in the margins by the 1st car park even the heavy rainfall didn't seem to put them off although I was a bit put out but hey ho. My only gripe is it cost £10 for up to 3 rods so if you only fish with the 1 rod or pole like me it still costs £10 , there are Toilets on site as well as a burger stall.
My mate lives in Benfleet and has recently started fishing there and said how good the fishing is there. My problem is that maybe its well over-stocked and its 'too' easy to catch ? We all want to catch fish but it seems from what he tells me its one of those places where you can cast pretty much anywhere and get fish straight away?
That's the problem with a lot of commercial fisheries although there are far worse ones than this one , people watch DVDs on fishing see big catches and want the same and the newbie fishermen of say 5 years want big catches with all there fancy gear, the days of drawing a blank on a cold winters day and working hard just to get a bite have long since gone.
