My local club is going to ruin, they had a small fishery with 4 small brlliant pools full of all kinds of species from carp to bream and roach and barbel and a small carp resvior also brimming with crucian and tench. However they let 3 of the pools become weedy still fishable with a raking and a couple swims that gave you 6-7 metres of room. The other fished well until this year the water went green and clear with little sign of life, i got told they were losing the ponds amd tansferring stock and had now taken on another local fisher which has become unfishable weedy and untreated water and bankside but still full of fish, the resevoir lost all carp and an all day session there produced me about 7 roach and a crucian. Any ideas what the hell is going on in this club, i will disclose the name of the ponds and fisherys if asked :P

I'm interested in knowing the name Keiran, just hope you won't get thrown out of the club though by "naming & shaming". |

sounds like a committee that has lost interest. Very few members turning up to meets, the commitee that still exists cant be bothered so things just get left. It sounds like you need a new comitte formed from those members that still want the club to be a success and get workparties sorted to get the ponds cleaned up.

This is the thing about them, all they care about is that resevoir which lost all carp over the winter, i have seen one other angler attempting the weedy mess all year, they were talking about moving the fish, and never so all the fish stocked a year ago small carp barbel and ide are just in a pond now that will go unfished ;/

What are you doing about it Kieran ? Have you told the committee members that you are unhappy with the situation? Have you asked them what is going on? Maybe they need help to clear the weed (workparties) or maybe they have run out of funds or it might be something else. We cant help you do anything about it on here except maybe agree with you that it is in a bad way.

I have mentioned it, im always on raking it even when not fishing i just go free up some swims, there main concern is that bloody resevoir they couldnt care about what could be down the road.

Like woodmagnet, I'm curious about who / where you are referring to - hate to think of local waters dying off. PM me details if you'd rather keep your head down about giving specific info out?
