No such thing as catching pike quick, i've fished waters that have had double figure pike in and it's taken me weeks just to get a nudge let alone a take!
Apart from anything else Pike area very delicate fish and need careful handling, so having the right equipment is important, as for a bait for pike and wild carp....do you mean a single bait that will catch them both or baits for each one? |

| Pike depends alot on waters you are angling, sometimes small dead fish does the job, sometimes artificial lures. Though there is definitive learning curve especially with younger pikes - once they deem bait unsuitable, they tend to outright avoid it. Carp is easy catch comparing to some fish, all you need is two cans of "bonduele sweetcorn" - they love it indiscriminatelly and take it even when not taking any other bait. I always chuck handfull where I expect them to be and then cast in two grains hooked so they look like one big grain. Smaller carp tend to keep in creases and slower water, but bigger ones, very much like barbel are not shy of the deeper faster areas. |
