I went for a walk along the match length about half an hour before weigh in and Albert reckoned that a lad fishing opposite the houses/reed beds had two tench plus skimmers for about 8lb. The other peg which fished well was the end peg near the inflow from the lock above which was being fished on the tip into the fast water. Otheriwise everyone else struggled to get a lb. no - opposite end - at the top of the length where the water comes in from the pound above - there were a good 25+ anglers fishing so the length was pretty full
Yes! A recent match on this section was won with 18lb - not bad for a canal The big weight was mostly skimmers on pellet with a couple of tench thrown in as a bonus
