Tuesday 22nd May.

9 fished on the Island.

1st Gary Etheridge 42-06 peg 37.
2nd Larry Laing 42-04 peg 47.
3rd Paul Dressler 36-12 peg 43.

The weather was really warm for the first eve match.

Gary had 17lb+ of silvers and 24lb+ of carp all caught shallow on pellet.
Larry had 6 carp and a couple of skimmers again all caught shallow with pellet.
I had 5 carp, catching 4 shallow with pellet in the first hour, along with a bream.
Then no more till 10 mins to go, catching 1 more carp in the margin with 8mm banded pellet.

I'd rather be fishing.

Tuesday 29th May.

12 fished on the island/outside(peg 8)

1st Steve Hutter 77-03 peg 39.
2nd Neil Richards 59-06 peg 49.
3rd Eddy Marsh 36-10 peg 25.
4th Larry Laing 34-04 peg 33.

Some good weights by the first 2.

Steve caught shallow with pellet.
Neil caught shallow with worm spraying caster.
Eddy caught down the edge with pellet. It was the first time we have used peg 25 in an evening match.
Larry also caught shallow with pellet.

I drew peg 46 and caught 2 carp and 3 bream, and tipped back 15 mins before the end. I caught shallow but the fish were not there for me.
Not a bite in the margins either.

I'd rather be fishing.

Tuesday June 5th.

8 fished on the island.

1st Bob Black 81-00 peg 48.
2nd Mick Gale 72-01 peg 42.
3rd Neil Richards 71-00 peg 45.

Well done Bob. Nice to see your name at the top of the weights.

It fished very well tonight. The fish were along the causeway today.

Bob caught at 4 mtrs with worm over maggot.

Not sure what others anglers were catching on, but the fish were all caught on the deck. The fish were just not taking it shallow.
Even the margins were very quiet, with not many caught there.

I drew peg 36, and weighed in at 38-08 with 10 carp and 3 bream, most of which were caught in the last 75 mins, with some left over paste from yesterday, fishing at 5 mtrs in front.

I'd rather be fishing.

Tuesday 19th June.

6 fished on the island.

NEW 3 HOUR EVENING MATCH RECORD.

1st Mick Lane 156lb 02ozs peg 27.
2nd Scott Shaw 38lb peg 48.
3rd Phil Powell 34lb 08ozs peg 45.

Brilliant result for Mick who fishes for Rolff's Team Gold.
Mick caught most of his fish in the margin with pellet.
He even lost quite a few too.

I drew peg 34 landing 2 carp and a few bream/roach, but DNW.
I lost 5 carp due to foul hooking and line breaking with fish under the staging. They were all caught shallow, as could not get any bites in the margins.

I'd rather be fishing.

Tuesday 3rd July.

10 fished on the match lake in the pouring rain.

5 pegs were on the island and 5 on the outside.

1st Gary Davis 48lb. peg 39.
2nd Neil Richards 44lb 2ozs peg 2.
3rd Paul Dressler 42lb 8ozs peg 43.

Gary caught at 14/16mtrs on the deck with pellet.

I caught all mine on paste. I tried shallow, but with the rain it was a waste of time. So decided paste was the way to fish.
I caught at 8mtrs in front and in the r/h margin by peg 44.
I lost 3 foul hookers and 1 under the staging.
In all i had 9 carp and 2 bream for my weight.

I'd rather be fishing.

After last sunday, i was happy just to land some fish. I only lost 2 tonight.

I'd rather be fishing.

Gary was catching shallow and in the margins with pellet.
Alan fished with his usual maggots close in.

I was on peg 49. weighing in with 7 carp and 3 bream, (for 31lb 12ozs) with most caught on paste, but did land a fairly one fishing shallow.

Tuesday 7th August.

12 fished on the match lake.

1st Paul Ogbourne 107lb 12ozs peg 43.
2nd Matt Sylvester 68lb 12ozs peg 17.
3rd Frank Domachie 52lb 8ozs peg 10.
4th Liam Coomby 50lb 12ozs peg 4.

Well done Paul and there were some good back-up weights too.

Both Paul and Matt caught with maggot in the margins.

Liam was a surprise on peg 4, as there have not been many fish caught in that area during daytime matches.

I drew peg 27, weighing in at 31lb.
All caught shallow except 1 carp close in late on.

I'd rather be fishing.

Tuesday 14th 3hr eve match.

9 fished on the match lake.

1st Alan Smith 50lb 12ozs peg 13.
2nd Frank Domachie 45lb 10ozs peg 15.
3rd Paul Dressler 43lb 8ozs peg 10.

Yesterday Alan also won the overs 55's from peg 47, winning with maggots as bait for both matches.

I caught in the margin near peg 9 and late on shallow.

The problem with fishing near peg 9,is that the fish will dive under then platform when hooked, and thats where i lost 3, with 2 taking the hook with them.

Next week will probably be the last one, with the draw at 4:30'ish, fish 5 till 8.

I'd rather be fishing.
