am i going mad here?,,already theres threads for holland and ireland for next year! this year only just half over! plenty of fishing to do this year. finances an misses permitting,im off to the festival in september, inniscara area,,,fishing its nuts off. i agree with train of thought that its not necessarily how much weight you sack, i also agree with the train of thought that if you go on the lash , get up at 10, do a few hours for 15lb an caine it again? no point moanin an ive bin guilty! the point being,,,,ive had the best fishing in over 40 yrs,,,met great people, and great anglers, my best weight was around 180lb of hybrids roach and rudd,,,,all quality. in fairness i did put in 12 or 14 hour sessions,,,mad mabye but i loved every minute.
not long back so i ll pm people an post pics soon after the mission back from pembroke. tight lines |

Just a little question to ask you lads. When you go over do you take out breakdown cover on your vehicle. I do normally but this year it went up from £68.00 to £103 for european cover and that is because the vehicle is 7 years old...what do you do chance it or pay up ?? .. |

I am in luck because my car insurance runs out 30th May and I normally travel to Ireland early May ,so what I do is my car insurance offer Europe wide breakdown cover when I renew , I decline the offer , but about a week before I go I call up and ask for cover for the rest of my policy , this year got covered for £34.

| We normally hire a van but the condition is we have to get the Europrean breakdown, just ring our car breakdown company and change it to van for week costs 38£ this year |

| Its usually a good spot to start early in the season Alan and once they move in there they generally clear out from just after spawning period and it's rare to see them back there at this time of year. I can only assume that the higher water levels have brought them back in for some reason. It is good craic when they are there as its similar to Town Lake in Killashandra whereby you can fish pole close in and get good hybrids and bream. Can be as late as June when they start to congregate if we've had a hard winter. |

| we'll be there in 2013 after missing out on our second trip of 2012 due to work commitments...slightly off topic but anyone needing their fix of a bit of irish style fishing need look no further than loch ronald in dumfries n galloway ,just had a 3 days up there and it was magic, loads of bream and skimmers. my first love remains ireland though :-) |
