due to my old one snaping at the thread end last week i have just got me one of these beauties! all i can say is wow.
i know its not normaly somthing to get excited about (a landing net handle! ) but this is a quality bit of kit! £40 (ouch) but i looked at a few in the shop and this was far superior to them all! the build quality and finish is awsome and it makes you feel like you have somthing quality and expensive when your using it! its threaded in 3 sections so for the bigger fish it has a super strong second section, threaded tipping section for quick transfer of fish to your keepnet and threaded normal section! it has 6 combinations of putting it together
if your after a new handle and have got 40 notes to waste check it out it really is smart.
oh and lets not forget the main reason for getting it
its BLUE and shiny!
i love being a tackle tart

neal, theres another thread on here that mentions the tourny handle saying the threads have stripped out of it,(two of the threaded sections).i love daiwa stuff especially the tournament gear but i was a bit put off with the comments.i should just be a bit careful when screwing your net on mate. p.s. nowt wrong with tackle tarts mate.it winds some up though don't it. |

| I bought a tourny handle in march and its now in the corner of my shed!.Im a big fan of daiwa tackle but was disappointed with this product. Both the treaded sections on the match tip and 2nd section wore away very quickly and the nets did'nt stay fixed in position.I also broke the top of the 2nd section pulling a 3lb tench up to my lap (was'nt putting it under that much stress) My mate has had the same problem with his matchwinner!? with the threads going! I decided to go for a Drennan Ex-strong carp in the end, which appears to be a much better handle. My advise would be to check to see if anyone else has had problems with either of these handles!! |

I wouldn't recommend them. bought one two months ago.threads stripped,2nd section broke, threaded bush is only about 1 inch long offering no strength.not the quality you would associate with the tournament logo.mine's going back to Fosters.

is this a problem with other types of net handles? the threads stripping?
ibought a diawa matchwinner handle from nathans of derby, first time out using it at full length, the screw part stripped, next match the other screw thread did the same thing. binned it, now using my old fibre glass sundridge (remember them}? twenty years old, keep saying ill buy a new one, but never get round to it. but i want a shiny one!! this ones cover in cr*p and scratches but its reliable. bit like the wife really. |

update,
2 months on fishing 2-3 times a week still solid as a rock threads still tight, landed various 10lb+ fish no bother.
maybe people select the wrong sections for the fish they intend to land and use the light sections for big fish? i dont know all i know is mine is fine so far..
oh and its still SHINY BLUE ! |

daiwa insist on making the threads from alloy probably to keep them light, but by the sounds of it its not working.i had a daiwa sensor handle a few years ago and that did the same, stripped the threads very quickly. i don't own anything else made by garbolino, but the 4 metre power maxim handle i've had for 2 years is still like new and as strong as owt.the thread is brass in the end so will be more hard wearing than alloy. |

I've got 2 of them and have used them for around 4 months twice a week and can't seem to find anything wrong up to now,
I got mine of Ebay from Reel deal tackle and paid a lot less than the shop price,
I still haven't worked out the 6 in 1 bit yet either, |

The threads do appear to be a problem with this landing net, when daiwa ,1st released them they had a shed load sent back especially the matchwinner ones. Most of the gear i own is tournament, and the best one daiwa made was the old tournament handle, which was 2 piece, and a speed tip section. i fish drayton more than most people and have been through 5 landing nets in 3 years at this venue ,but the handle has necver flinched. |
